- December 2006 - Moldova becomes eligible for Compact assistance following an international assessment of its performances against 16 indicators grouped in three categories – fair governance, investing in people and economic freedom.
- April 2007 - first meeting of the Compact Proposal Monitoring Committee for Moldova.
- June 2007 - National Forum to launch public debates on the National Development Plan and Compact assistance program.
- November 2009 - The Board of Directors of the Millennium Challenge Corporation of the U.S. Government approves Compact with Moldova.
- 22 January 2010 – The USD 262 million Compact Agreement between the United States of America and the Republic of Moldova is signed in Washington. The assistance will be provided through the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
- March 2010 – The Moldovan Government establishes the public entity “Millennium Challenge Account Moldova” (MCA Moldova) to implement the Compact Agreement.
- 1 September 2010 - The 2010-2015 Compact Agreement and the Program Implementation Agreement come into effect.
- October 2010 – Daniel Yohannes, Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, undertakes an official visit to Moldova to officially launch the Compact Moldova.
- February 2011 – MCA Moldova and the state-owned enterprise State Road Administration sign the Implementing Entity Agreement for the implementation of the Compact Road Rehabilitation Project.
- May 2011 - MCA Moldova and the state agency Apele Moldovei sign the Implementing Entity Agreement for the implementation of the Compact’s Transition to High Value Agriculture Project.
- September 2011 - MCA Moldova and the Credit Line Directorate of the Ministry of Finance sign the Implementing Entity Agreement for the implementation of the Access to Agricultural Finance Activity of the Transition to High Value Agriculture Project.
- October 2011 – Compact Credit Line Facility is officially launched. MCA Moldova signs loan agreements with seven participating financial institutions (banks) for on-lending to agricultural producers.
- January 2012 - MCA Moldova and the Ministry of Environment sign a Memorandum of Understanding that sets clear roles for the two institutions in the implementation of the River Basin Management sub-activity of the Transition to High Value Agriculture Project.
- June 2012 - All the agreements for the rehabilitation of the 93 km Sarateni-Soroca road segment of the M2 national road that makes the link between Moldova and Ukraine are signed.
- November 2012 - MCA Moldova, Ministry of Environment and the e-Government Center sign a Cooperation Agreement for the development of a common water use authorization platform, which allowed to put in place a legal framework for the establishment of a one-stop shop for issuance of water use authorizations.
- March 2013 – The Government approves the Regulation on the management transfer of irrigation systems to Water Users’ Associations.
- April - May 2013 – Apele Moldovei Agency transfers the management of 7 irrigation systems - Criuleni, Lopatna, Cosnita, Roscani, Puhaceni, Jora de Jos and Grozesti, to WUAs for a 30-year term.
- October 2013 –The Water Law comes into effect. It is the framework document that promotes a modern management of water resources and aligns the legal framework to the water directives of the Council of the European Union.
- May 2013 – The first works contract for the rehabilitation of the Criuleni and Lopatna irrigation systems (Orhei district) is signed.
- November 2013 – The Government approves the Regulation on the establishment and operation of the one-stop shop for issuance of authorizations for special water use. The one-stop shop is inaugurated in April 2014.
- November - December 2013 – works contracts are signed for the rehabilitation of the irrigation systems in Jora de Jos (Orhei district), Cosnita (Dubasari district), Puhaceni and Roscani (Anenii Noi district), Blindesti (Ungheni district), Grozesti (Nisporeni district) and Leova (Leova district).
- July 2014 – Traffic is opened on the Sarateni grade separation – the first structure of this size built over the past 20 years in Moldova.
- May 2014 – The works contract for the rehabilitation of the last irrigation system Chircani-Zirnesti (Cahul district) is signed.
- September 2014 – Completion of the rehabilitation works on the Sarateni-Soroca road.
- September 2014 - Exhibition of archaeological finds collected along the Sarateni-Soroca road is inaugurated as part of the European Heritage Days.
- November 2014 – Completion of the rehabilitation works at the Criuleni and Lopatna irrigation systems.
- March 2015 - MCA Moldova and the Implementation Unit of the Increase of Food Production Project (2KR) launch the Irrigated High Value Agriculture Hire-Purchase Program.
- August 2015 – Completion of the rehabilitation works at the other irrigation systems covered by the Compact, followed by their inauguration by high-level officials from the Government, U.S. Embassy in Moldova and Millennium Challenge Corporation.
- 1 September 2015 – the end date of the Compact – the largest assistance program that Moldova has ever received.
- December 2015 – The Moldovan Government approves the establishment of the public entity Sustainable Development Account Moldova, which is the successor of MCA Moldova.
