The Sustainable Development Account Moldova (SDA Moldova) is a public entity, a successor of the Millennium Challenge Account Moldova, established by the Government of the Republic of Moldova to ensure the sustainability of the investments granted under the Compact Agreement signed by and between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America.
SDA Moldova whas the role to continue the projects initiated under the Compact program funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation, by promoting the model for effective management of infrastructure investments, providing assistance to Water Users’ Associations, facilitating access to funding and expanding the irrigated areas.
SDA Moldova will manage, on behalf of the Moldovan Government, the Loan Revolving Fund built up as part of the Access to Agricultural Financing Activity of the Compact and will make sure the post-Compact impact of the Compact investments is properly monitored and reported. If appropriate, SDA Moldova may also manage other financial, investment and technical assistance agreements, which aim in particular at economic growth, infrastructure development and poverty reduction.
SDA Moldova’s operations are transparent and supported by the entity’s Steering Committee, Executive Committee and the management unit.
